So a little while ago I said that I was going to join a gym and start working out…but that never happened. My goal is to get as fit as I was when I played volleyball in high school. Actually not only do I want to be as fit as I was in high school, I want to weigh as much as I did when I was in high school…which means I would be GAINING weight. Yes I want to get heavier! Right now I’m 117lbs, and in high school I was a solid 132lbs so that’s like a good 15lbs to gain. Unlike most girls in high school…I actually loved the way I looked, I loved my body and I loved my athletic built. But after graduating high I stopped working out and then after I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis my athletic figure was a thing of the past. One of the hardest things with having RA for me is that I can’t keep on weight. The last couple of years I have been stuck between 115-120 lbs, and earlier this year I was 110lbs.
Another struggle with my RA is that I am always sore, and in a lot of pain…which cause fatigue, which means I don’t want to do anything but sleep. Not eat, not move…nothing but sleep…and one of the worse things a person suffering from RA can do is not move. So this past weekend I decided that I was going to start and stick to jogging/running at least every other day. I started on Sunday and it felt so good just to be outside and moving, soaking up the sunlight is great for my bones as well. So Monday was my rest day and today is another run day. I’m hoping to at least get a little shape back into my legs and get a little more energy. Once I get my set schedule at work I’m a head over to the local Planet Fitness and sign up, it’s going to feel good to be back in the gym.
I plan on updating on here how my fitness journey is going…so stay tuned!
