My Bamboo By Franck Olivier Review…

***Before I get started on my review I want to thank BrandBacker and Fragrance Outlet for sponsoring this post and giving me a chance to try out a new Fragrance Outlet exclusive perfume***

Growing up, during my middle school and high school years I was a perfume addict! If I wasn’t at the mall trying out all the free samples I was going through my mom’s stash. But as I got older, I’m not sure if perfumes just lost their luster or the fact that everyone was wearing the same overpowering scent of perfumed lotions and sprays…remember Cucumber Melon? It could have also been that I just stopped caring about perfumes all together…I’m not sure. But like I said, as I got older in my early 20’s, I started to avoid all products containing strong perfume like scents. And in my mid to late 20’s, I started using more natural oils and lotions like coconut oil and shea butter and just avoided perfumes all together.

Now that I’m in my 30’s, I’m starting to find myself checking for new perfumes scents again. So when an opportunity to try out a new perfume for my blog presented itself through Brand Backer who partnered with Fragrance Outlet, I jumped at the chance to try out Bamboo Eau De Parfum Spray For Women by Franck Olivier. This is not only a new scent for me, but one that was exclusive to Fragrance Outlet as well. So I knew that meant that there would be a very low chance that everyone around me would be smelling exactly the same because you could only get this scent at one store.

And you want to hear something even cooler, Fragrance Outlet is now online, so that means now you don’t have to travel all the way to the outlet malls which sometimes can be super far away, to enjoy the wide selection of perfumes and perfume accessories that Fragrance Outlet has to offer. The site is very clean and easy to navigate; it also gives useful information on all their perfumes. And if you have a question, like maybe what other scents may work with a certain perfume, or what sizes the perfume comes in…there’s a little blue help button right there on the screen that allows to send a message to customer service. Once there they can answer any and all questions you may have dealing with perfumes and perfume accessories. I’m also very pleased with the price selection you find on the website as well, because not everyone wants to spend an arm and a leg on perfumes…me included.

So now for the fun part…my review. So after wearing BAMBOO for a few days, I’ve noticed that the scent is definitely noticeable when I wear it. Not only could I smell it on me all day, but my coworkers took notice as well…which was something I was somewhat worried about. I currently work at a clinic scheduling patients for different doctors, and overpowering perfume scents are highly frowned upon. Even though I don’t have any contact with patients, since I’m in my own little office, I do come across doctors, nurses and other health care workers. So when it was brought to my attention that they noticed I was wearing perfume I was afraid that maybe it was too much or that it stinked. But instead I received compliments on how fresh and pleasant the scent was. Everyone liked the fact that you could tell that I was wearing something but it wasn’t over powering to the point they could taste it or it made them cough…which I’ve experienced being around others with bad perfumes on and it’s horrible.

The perfume itself was inspired by the bamboo plant hints the name. So it has a fresh floral scent. If you’re super into perfumes you may be familiar with what are called notes that deal with what scents make up the perfume as a whole. The notes in this perfume are:

Top Notes: Blackcurrant, Violet Leaves, Ivy

Middle Notes: Lily, Rose, Ylang-Ylang, Freesia

Base Notes: Musk, Cedar, Vetiver

In my opinion Bamboo by Franck Olivier completes any summer time outfit, I decided to pair it with a gray dress, necklace and earrings, all from Forever 21. My floral kimono and Banana Republic wedges, both  I picked up from Plato’s Closet for a steal. So with a spray on the chest area, and a little on my wrist and a dab behind my ears I smelt just a florally as I looked.
