If there’s one beauty regimen that I don’t mess around with, it’s my daily face cleansing and moisturizer. I prefer to use products that are cruelty free, and that are filled with natural and organic ingredients. For the past year I have been sticking with one moisturizer, but recently through BrandBacker, I had the chance to try out Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer over this past month. To say that I like this moisturizer would be an understatement.
So let’s just start of with the size and the price of this moisturizer. So for 24.99 you get 4oz, for me being that I prefer to use this product mainly when I’m wearing makeup, that means this moisturizer is going to last me a very long time. When I’m going barefaced I prefer to wear Vitamin E Oil, but if you’re someone who prefers a regular moisturizer this bottle will still last you a very long time. So for the price I feel like you really get your money’s worth.
Next, let’s have a look at the key ingredients in this moisturizer. Each selected ingredient in this moisturizer were chosen to work together to help achieve the most optimum results. The key ingredients are:
- Botanical Hyaluronic Acid: Floods skin with moisture, supports skin elasticity, and plumps skin from within.
- Kojic Acid: Controls melanin production and prevents dark spots.
- Ginseng: Boosts skin firming collagen, fights wrinkles, and gives the skin a brighter and more energized look.
- Safflower Oil: Repairs skin’s natural moisture barrier and provide superior skin protection.
- Shea Butter: Infuses skin with a myriad of vitamins and nutrients for superior skin hydration and nourishment.
I’m sure some of my readers who are women of color are probably looking at the Kojic Acid side ways…so was I when I first read it, especially the way it’s worded on the website. So I did some research on my own, and basically it’s there to help with dark spots. I was super worried it would bleach my skin or something awful like that, but I’m happy to say after using this for a month I did not notice any lighting of my skin. Now I will say I don’t have any real significant dark spots, and I do only use this product if I’m wearing makeup, so I can’t really give you a measurement of how well this product works on dark spots. But I was happy that I didn’t turn out looking like something that died and came back to life.
Now on to how it feels on the skin. At first glance I wasn’t sure if I would like the texture of it, but I was surprised once using it. Once on the lotion leaves the skin feeling super soft and moisturized but not oily, in fact for me it left my skin matte but not drying. Which is something I like because I have very oily skin, so I always prefer a matte finish under my makeup.
Even though I was sent this product to try out, I will most likely put this moisturizer in my regular product rotation. I have some other things to try out, but again I am very pleased with this product as a whole. The price for the size and quality of this moisturizer is something I could say I wouldn’t have a problem spending money on. And again I’m very happy with how it leaves my face feeling and how it wears under my makeup. I know this product line makes a host of great body products, some that I hope to get a chance to try in the near future.
So yeah, I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to BrandBacker and Valentia for allowing to try out the Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer. If you get the chance to try out or have tried it, let me know in the comments section your thoughts on the product.
