Hey Yinz Guys, its been a minute since I’ve posted a beauty review on here. I’ve been a little MIA, but while I was gone I had the chance to try out a few new beauty products. The 1st product I want to share with yinz guys is Derma|E Hydrating Day and Night Cream. These two creams have been out for some time, but this was my first time trying the creams. Now I am actually very familiar with this beauty brand because I have seen the brand in a lot of local drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, Target and one of my favorite stores, which is Ulta. So Derma|E is a trusted brand that has been around since 1984, but starting this past October they started to roll out a new look for their skin care line which is one reason I was asked to do the review.
I was giving this opportunity thanks to BrandBacker in partnership with Derma|E to tryout their Hydrating Day and Night cream. You may notice that the packaging is different between the two creams, and that’s because the day cream is the old packaging and the night cream in the new packaging. As Derma|E put it the new packaging is part of their new brand tone, lifestyle and personality.
Now to why you are here… “You know why I’m here!“~Marshawn Lynch, the product review lol. First I would like to mention that I have very oily skin and up until recently my face has been pretty clear (stress is to blame). When it comes to moisturizers, if I’m not wearing makeup during the day I prefer to just rock my vitamin E oil from Trader Joe’s. If I am wearing makeup I prefer a moisturizer that will matte my skin to help with keeping my oils under control. And at night, after cleansing my face I use my Vitamin E oil again. So I was excited to try a new product that offered to help keep your skin hydrated.
Even though I don’t normally suffer from dry skin, I do like to use products that will keep my skin moisturized especially now that the weather has changed and it’s starting to get colder out. Here in Pittsburgh the winter is no joke, the wind and air can be extremely harsh especially on ones face since usually that’s the one part of the body that is sometimes left exposed to the elements.
Like I mentioned earlier, the 1st thing I noticed was the the difference in the packaging. The day cream is the old packaging, which is very basic and looks more mediciney…is that a word. While the night cream is the new packaging. The new packaging has more of a spa like look to it. Both jars are made out of glass which is nice for reusing later on.
Both creams are packed with some of my favorite ingredients like Vitamin C and E as well as Aloe and Green Tea. Both creams are formulated to help plump the skin on your face to help reduce the look of fine line and wrinkles, and at 31 I’m all here for that feature lol. Both creams are ideal for dry skin, but with my oily skin I had no issues with them when using just the creams alone. While using the day cream under my makeup, it wasn’t bad it just wasn’t a mattefying moisturizer like I prefer. Now I couldn’t really tell the difference between the night and day cream, but it is said that they are formulated for one to work in the day and one at night.
Each cream cost about $30 each which isn’t bad for the quality and the amount of product that you get. You get 2oz for the day and night cream. Both are also 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten free and GMO free. I prefer to use cruelty free products because I’ve always felt like those products have always worked best on my skin.
So would I purchase Derma|e Hydrating Day and Night Cream…the verdict is still out on that. I do plan on using them past this review because I have been going more makeup free lately and with winter right around the corner I will definitely be in need of all the moisturizing and skin protection I can get. Derma|E also offers a full line of skin and body care and I already saw a few other products I would like to try out. If you’ve tried and of Derma|E products or plan to let me know and the comment section below.
I also want to say THANK YOU to all of my readers, and also thank you for sticking with me. I’m still trying to work out some things with this here blog on mine but I appreciate all of my readers and supporters. You guys are why I’m working on being a better blogger and keep me going.
