Ayyyye Yinz Guys and Happy November 1st! Yes…I’m ignoring the fact that my last post was in July…so yeah lol! But a lot has been going on with me, and I mean A LOT. From my love life to my personal life to my work life. I now work from home full time, I got a promotion and a nice little raise, my mental health has come leaps and bounds and while my physical health has taken a turn for the worse(no I’m not dying thankfully) I’m still here thoting and bopping. And speaking of thoting my love life…it’ still nonexistent. But I will hit on all these topics in their own blog post later this month, I promise. Hey Yinz Guys, and Happy Wednesday! So we’ve once again made it to the end of another work week, and if you’re lucky like I am, its Pay Day too. So this friday I wanted to touch on my Summer 2017 Goals. Recently I’ve been so determined to make a ton of lifestyle changes, so I figured writing them down and sharing them on here would how keep me motivated and accountable. So here’s a list of my Summer 17 Goals. These are in no particular order.
- Go to the gym at least 3x a week
- Drink more water
- Get a personal trainer
- Become a better cook
- Go back to school
- New job
- Save at least $500 dollars by the end of the summer
- Get my passport(yes I know I’m slacking)
- Post at least 2x a week on my blog
- Wake up at 6am every morning on the weekdays and 8m on the weekends
- Rad at least 3 books this summer
- Visit Lake Erie at least twice this summer
- Visit family in Florida
- Visit DC
- Visit Philly
- Make it to at least one music festival
- Take my medication everyday
- Journal more
- Write in my prayer journal twice a day(once in the morning and once at night)
- Read 1 bible verse a day
- Make it to at least one Steelers preseason game
- Take one yoga class a week
So that’s it for my Summer 2017 Goals. So far I’ve been doing really well with making it to the gym and drinking more water. I’ll be looking into getting a personal trainer next month and I’ll be headed to the library this weekend to pick up some new books. So what about you, what are some of your summer goals for this year. I would love to read them in the comment section below, I may even borrow some of them for my own lol. As always, thank you so much for the support.
Peace Yinz Guys
Hey Yinz Guys & Happy Friday…and if you’re one of the lucky ones Happy Pay Day too! And YESSSS I am MAD late posting this…but today was the start of my 4 day weekend and I totally got up really late and forgot to schedule this post. So anywho…I’m coming to you with my 2nd week of #FridayFavorites where I plug some of my favorite things from the week. I kept to 7 items this time lol, but I hope you still enjoy this post. So here we go…
- CRWN Magazine ~ A couple days ago I finally got my hand on CRWN Magazine Volume 01/Issue 01 with natural hair YouTube guru Naptural85(Whitney White) on the cover. And I am already in LOOOOVE with this magazine. I haven’t been able to actually sit down and get all into it, but the photos alone have already captured my heart. I can’t wait for the second issue.
- H&M Poncho ~ I picked up this awesome poncho from Buffalo Exchange on the South Side back in February. Because Pittsburgh weather is unpredictable this piece is great for layering under both my heavy and lite jacket as well as wearing alone with it’s not super cold but not that hot either.
- Easy Spirit Shoes ~ These shoes are great for my arthritic feet lol…you read all about them in a previous post I wrote here.
- Snappee Hair Ties ~ These hair ties make it extremely easy to put hair up in a high puff. I also haven’t had any issues with them pulling on my edges as well like I have experienced with other hair ties and scrunchies.
- Aboni Cosmetics ~ The 1st time I came across this brand it was when it was shared on a beauty blogger I follow on IG page. She was wearing the color Frenchie and I just had to have it. I also purchased Kiss & Tell and Daydream as well. I can’t wait to try out all 3 of these colors. And when I do I’ll make sure to post them on my IG.
- Humble by Kendrick Lamar ~ Does this really need an explanation?
- Hey, Girl by Alex Elle ~ I am such a fan of Alex Elle, from when she used to create and sell her own jewelry to now a 3-time author to self-care expert and now Podcaster. I like to listen to her podcast Hey Girl when I’m taking pictures or writing for my blog because it’s just really calming and uplifting. I have been getting back into listening to podcast regularly again, and this is up there with my top 3 favorites.
Well, that’s it for this week. I hope you guys enjoyed this week’s favorites. I’ll return next week with a new list of things I’m favoring for that week, so make sure you check back in. You can also check out my favorites from last week here. Also in the comment section below, I would love to hear about your #FridayFavorites too. And like always, thank you so much for checking out my blog. I hope you have an awesome weekend.
Peace Yinz Guys
Growing up I use to write nonstop…like every day. Any free time I had I was writing something. Either is was a short story, a chapter story, a poem, letters to God and sometimes letters to my Dad who lived in North Carolina for a few years. It really didn’t matter what I was writing, I just had to write. I specifically remember writing a story that took me days to write, being that I was in grade school at the time most of my writing had to be done after homework was done at an after school program me and my sister attended. I really can’t remember what it was about…but I do remember feeling super attached and determined to write and finish this story.
As I’ve gotten older not only have I gotten away from constantly writing I’ve also lost that intensity or drive to write. Don’t get me wrong my love for writing is still there so is my desire to write…it’s just that as I grew older and went farther in school and especially after the death of my father I lost my inspiration to write I guess. With being forced to write long papers in high school and during the time I did first attend college I lost my drive to read for entertainment and to write. Not until my mid 20’s after surviving 2 different domestic situations I found myself wanting to just write again. But this time my writing were mostly dark and depressing and nothing I ever wanted anyone to see.
That’s also around the time I discovered blogs and blogging. Blogging wasn’t anything at the time and the idea of sharing your thoughts and daily activity on the internet wasn’t a completely new idea to me either…but blogging also wasn’t what it is today. At that time blogging was still genuine and real and most bloggers probably had no idea that 1) they could or would eventually get paid to blog and that 2) it would catch on the way it has. Hell if I knew I would have really stuck with my 1st real blog and stayed consistent with it. But I let life situation derail me and keep me from blogging(sounds familiar huh lol).
But now that I’m older, wiser and really trying to take this blogging thing seriously while also furthering my education and career in the writing/social media/mass media market I’m really in search of my inspiration and gain that passion, love, and desire to write again. I keep hearing from fellow bloggers, friends, family and other loved ones that the key to getting back into the swing of things is to JUST WRITE. Anytime you get a few minutes to yourself…WRITE. When an idea for a blog post pops into your head, don’t trust yourself to remember to blog about it later…WRITE the idea down. And then when you get home set at least an hour aside each day just so that you can focus on WRITING. So yes…I’m short of a hardheaded and a procrastinator and I live off my emotions and allow my emotions and other people to throw me off track but this time I am super duper committed to doing all of these things in the month of April.
I’ve already started, I actually started last week and that’s what resulted in my latest post for #FridayFavorites. And when I started thinking about the idea for this post I immediately grabbed my iPhone 6s+ and started writing in my Google Docs(I really love this app). And we’ll here I am, 15 mins later and I actually have a new blog post for Yinz guys today. BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP…but I also know I can’t become content with this post I have to keep the momentum going and keep writing. So here’s to trying to figure this whole new journey out and getting my mojo back Yinz guys.
When you’re feeling uninspired or feeling like you can’t do something that you normally love to do, how do you get your mojo or inspiration back? Do you step away from it for awhile or do you keep doing it until it comes back to you? I would love to know in the comment section below. Also if you have any advice or tricks please let me know below as well…ALL ADVICE IS WELCOMED & NEEDED. But that’s all for today. And like always thank you so much for checking and reading the blog…it seriously means a lot to me. Here’s to a productive week ahead of us…and yet another short week for me lol.
Peace Yinz Guys!!!
Hey Yinz Guys & Good Morning! And if you guess by the tile of this post…today is my 32nd birthday. Yup you read that right, I’m an old lady at 32 lol. I swear I just turned 25 last year..or at least I feel like I did lol. This year my birthday is going to be EXTRA lowkey. I’m actually at work due to my coworker being on vacation. I did celebrate a little bit over the weekend. My cousins 30th birthday was this weekend as well and his wife set up an surprise birthday party for him. So I spent Saturday with friends & family celebrating his birthday.
This morning, I had a text conversation with my sister and it went a little something like this…
Sister: Good Morning
Me: I was hoping I crashed into a ditch this morning
Sister: OMG I’m cracking up!!! Don’t say that!!!
Me: I really was:
Me: I was also trying to be positive as well
Me: Like at least I have a job
Sister: True! I have to remind myself of that too.
Sister: I also have a problem with thinking I wish I had this and that but I need to be happy with what I have. Continue reading “I’m No Positive Patty…”

Bye Yinz Guys!
Last week I was on vacation…and Lord knows it was needed. I spent most of my time in my second home Philly, a day in Jersey and then a few hours for what was my first trip to NYC!
I had an amazing time with my sister. As of lately it’s been ruff not having her around 24/7 so being able to spend a whole 7 days with her was greatly appreciated. We wanted to make it to DC as well, but we stayed in Jersey a lil longer then expected so we had to choose between DC or NYC…and NYC won!
While in Philly my sister took me to this great place called Frankford Hall that’s was located in Fishtown. It’s like you’re outside, but you’re inside too lol! They had A bunch of different beers there, I’m not a huge beer drinker but they had a beer called Franzisker Dunkel-Weisse that I thought was pretty good. Their burgers were big, juicy and delicious…so delicious that I forgot to take a picture of it lol! And they had carrot cake and German chocolate cupcakes as their specialty dessert that day. I got the German chocolate cupcake….it was like biting into a lil piece of chocolate heaven!
So then on Thursday, me Candace(sister) made our way to Jersey to see one of her best friends Lyndsie. It was my first time there and her house and neighborhood was beautiful! While in Jersey I got to enjoy my first Jacuzzi, and I must say when it comes time for me to buy a house I would defiantly be installing one of my own. It felt sooooooooooooooooo good!
So on Saturday I made my first visit to NYC, it was extremely short and sweet! My friend Rudy came and took me and my sister around to a few spots! We went to bar called Macondo and a pizza shop called Artichoke. The pizza there was amazing, not how like I normally like my pizza….but for a picky eater like me it was pretty damn good. Only bad think about the trip was that I didn’t take any pictures, I was to busy looking up and around at everything that I forgot to take pictures. Well I did get one picture of the Empire State building lol! I had a great time there and I def want to go back, but next time stay for like a week.
Last week made for a great vacation, but I’m excited to be back home. I def missed my Virginia =^_^=
Hey Yinz Guys!!! It’s been a min since I’ve done a #HYLC update!
So much to blog about, I don’t even know where to start. This summer has turned out to be one of the best summers I have had in a LOOOOONG time. Since joining Brain of BMW I have gotten the opportunity to meet a lot of great people and listen to a lot of great music. If you know me…you know that I am a HUGE fan of local rap group “The 58’s” so I got to see them live again at Timebomb “Return Of The Boom Bap (Showcase Vol. 1)” this past Thursday along side Boaz and Varsity Squad who are also from the 412. And the weekend before that, I got to see APEX(my newest favorite group out of Pittsburg), The Sole Vibe and Varsity Squad tear it down at the “Fresh Out The Booth” event…in which I had a BALL!
Kid Cudi and Wiz Khalifa concerts are coming up in August…so I’m still trying to figure out how I can get tickets for each show.
But the really really REALLY big news is……I GOT THE JOB!!! \(^_^)/
I now have officially joined the ranks of the employed, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Yesterday was officially my first day, not much to talk about because it was mostly just paper work. This job is in the banking and financing field just like my last job, but a lot less of direct customer contact. I think I’m a like it, and another the plus is that the work atmosphere seems to be really nice. So now that hurdle is FINALLY crossed I am now on the hunt for a part-time…YES I want a part-time ASAP!
Let’s see what else is new…since I had to cancel my trip to MIA…I’m hoping to make a trip to a beach a lil closer to home like in New Jersey or Virginia. My love life is still nonexistent, but there is a guy that has caught my eye. But I realized that I was doing too much and that maybe I should just accept it for what it is…but that’s a whole other post. But he’s cute and I like his lips…as well as a few other body parts LOL! So I’m a just go with the flow and see what happens.
As of right now I couldn’t be any happier. Everything over at Brain of BMW is going smoothly, I am learning so much about who I am as a writer and I have gained so much experience from working with the site it’s crazy and I’m looking forward to continuing to do so. This summer has been great so far, and its kind of sad to think that it’s almost over, but if the next two seasons are as good as this one…I think I’m a be one happy girl.
So yeah, I need to hit the sack…TTYL!!!
