Thankful…

Me and my sister last Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving was especially small. My mom and I decided not to have our own dinner since my sister couldn’t make it home, and most family opted out of coming home for Thanksgiving as well.

So I spent most of the day working an early shift, then came straight over to my aunt’s house to eat and spend time with her, my mom and my great aunts and cousin…all of them women. And as I was sitting there I realized that we may not have much…but we all have each other. I was with the cornerstones of my family. Each and every woman at the table had a hand in raising me and shaping me into the woman I am today. For the most part, all of us are in good health as well.

So even though it was small, and I only had one plate…it was still a day full of laughter and love, and that’s more than enough to be thankful for.

I hope all my readers has a great holiday…PEACE!

Philly, My Soon To Be OLD 2nd Home…1st Edition

A few weeks ago I visited what has become my second home for the past 5 years…Philadelphia Pa.  I never thought that I would  fall in love with a city as much as I have with the City of Brotherly Love.  Growing up I never had any desire to really come visit Philly… it was always New York, Miami, LA and Greensboro, NC(parts of my dad’s side of the family live there…I LOVE IT THERE) were always my places of choice. But after my little sister got accepted to Temple University in 2005, I have found myself there at least every couple of months!  She is now an official Temple Alumni, and her days in the city are now numbered. She will be moving soon, and that means my days of  free room and board may be numbered as well 😦

Believe it or not, with the amount of time I have spent in Philly…I had yet to take an official tour of the city. One of the main attractions of Philly is the Liberty Bell, so while we we’re in Old City we decided to take a quick stop there before we went to Happy Hour!

After the Liberty Bell my sister, mother and I meet up with Martin who is my sisters best friend. With no real plan we just did some bar hopping and Krispy Kream donuts smashing…and when I say smashing…I MEAN SMASHING! MMMMMM DONUTS! *Homer Simpson voice* lol

So here’s just some of the pics from when I was in Philly!
